Galleons
Coin
Galleons
(sometimes called Gold-Galleons) are the most valuable coins of the wizarding currency. One Galleon is equal to 17 Sickles or 493 Knuts, and despite being made of gold, Galleons are roughly equivalent to £5 GBP ($10 USD). One house point is gained for each Galleon collected in Pottermore. Once you run out of Galleons you cannot get anymore on your own account. You can always buy ingredients via other accounts.

From the Story

The currency of the wizarding world is divided into Galleons, Sickles and Knuts. Galleons are large gold coins, Sickles are silver, and Knuts small and bronze. There are twenty-nine Knuts to a Sickle and seventeen Sickles to a Galleon.
